Saratoga Chips Celebrates “Saratoga Chip Day” on August 24th

Saratoga Chips, America’s First Kettle Chip ™, will be celebrating their second anniversary of the State of New York and City of Saratoga Springs proclamations citing August 24th as Saratoga Chip Day.  Last year, the New York State Senate, led by Senator Kathy Marchione, and the New York State Assembly, led by Assemblyman Jim Tedisco, jointly issued an Official Proclamation recognizing that August 24th was to be “Saratoga Chip Day” in the great state of New York in perpetuity.  Governor Andrew Cuomo joined the Senate and Assembly with his own Official Governmental Citation, which also recognizes August 24th as Saratoga Chip Day.
The company has seen extensive growth over the last year and is excited about future expansion plans in the Northeast. Recently, the company released a limited edition red, white and blue potato chip, called “Old Glories”, that celebrated the American tradition in the brand. As the trademark on the bag shows, Saratoga Chips were America’s first kettle chip, invented in Saratoga Springs, New York.  The inventor, George Crum, was a chef at Moon’s Lake House restaurant when he incidentally invented the chip in 1853.

Saratoga Chips has plans for new and exciting products to be released next year, and will stick to the health-conscious core of Saratoga Chips with all-natural, certified non-GMO, zero trans fats, nut free, lactose free, kosher certified, zero cholesterol, gluten free, and food dye/coloring free potato chips. The existing lines of potato chips, as well as the future products, are also produced with Himalayan Salt, the purest salt on earth, to bring additional minerals, along with good sources of anti-oxidants and vitamin C.
“We are delighted to be celebrating another Saratoga Chip Day and are excited about the future this company holds”, said Jim Schneider, President and Managing Partner of Saratoga Chips.  “Our public celebration last year paved the way for greater knowledge of our brand and the American tradition of the kettle chip, and we look forward to more celebrations in years to come” he added.
